Analysis of Death
As a mother of one,
I'm filled with joy.
Watching you play
with your colourful toy
of petals that bloomed
in different hues,
attracting creatures
from meadows and mews.
Sweet nectar you gave
to those who came.
A humbled host
who craved no fame.
Yet stories formed
of your selfless deed.
It made me so proud!
You born from my seed.
And as days passed,
we lived in bliss.
But soon I felt
something amiss.
Why was it that
your colour looked old?
Did I do something wrong?
Your petals were cold.
Here! Have a drink!
Take some food from the leaf!
Tell me what to do!!!
I panicked with grief.
This can't be happening!
Life’s not fair!
We were meant to stay
in each other's care!
No more guests came.
No more nectar you'd toil.
And soon you perished
into the light brown soil.
Oh, why can't I cry???
It was His mistake!
He made me, cursed,
with mourning fake.
I don't believe others,
with their lies that flow.
Saying the proof of love
is in the letting go.
Was life a blessing?
Or was it a chore?
It may bring joy,
but the sorrows more.
As winter grew,
huge storms it wrought.
Icy and blistering,
and then I thought…
Perhaps it best
that you were gone.
Escaping this violence
that lingered on.
But soon the warmth
of the sun I felt,
and winter like
the ice did melt.
I reminisced when
you were in my seams.
A bud so fragile,
filled with dreams.
It’s all His fault!
This cunning Force!
He gives, then takes
without remorse!
Wait… what is this???
You were at your end.
Yet from my roots,
I feel you again.
Perhaps His ploy
to take you yonder
had greater meaning
than my mind could wonder.
As a mother of one,
joy fills my soul.
But this time I
remain forever whole.
