Growing Faith
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
His divine power has granted,
To us all things pertain to life;
Because a seed He has planted,
For coping with toils and strife.
Through the knowledge of Him who called,
His own glory and excellence;
With worship we honor and laud,
Offering our repentance.
He has granted His great promise,
Are precious of divine nature;
Knowing He gives a fair justice,
A chance to be a new creature.
For I have escaped corruption,
Because of sinful desire;
That could be from a disruption,
Of righteousness I require.
Supplement your faith with virtue,
Knowledge with having self-control;
Wisdom assists you to construe,
The direction called for your soul.
Love from brotherly affection,
Charity with a steadfastness;
For comforting your affliction,
To continue your godliness.
These qualities are always yours,
Keeping you fruitful to increase;
Your knowledge in Christ that implores,
That your praying will never cease.
Whoever lacks these will be blind,
Having forgotten of their sin;
The righteous path they cannot find,
As decay has started within.
Be more diligent to confirm,
For your calling and election;
Keeping righteous for the long term,
As a heavenly connection.
You will be richly provided,
Accession into His Kingdom;
Upon commitment abided,
Through our Lord and His wisdom.
