Dedication In Its Requirement
(Woman)
You want to bury my ashes, with it a sacred rite.
Let your love make me royal and breed flowers to time.
But lo, your hearts whispers give me strife.
You'll take any treasure, steal from element dare you'd bother?
Burn any priceless gift and separate this daughter from her father?
But lo, your dedication lends me no rest.
And it makes me cry.
At night, when I replay your face in my mind.
(Man)
Maybe It's when the stars give out and the morning fades away.
Maybe it's when the mountains flatten and I finally gain your embrace?
Maybe it's when the darkness invites even the purest of hearts and the singing ocean stops counting days.
Maybe it's when a hero descends to define a smile and keep the destruction of knowledge away.
That I'll have all of you.
Can I find the bleeding shard of your heart I've dreamt of snatching away?
Of essence so innocence its life at stake every day.
Would it belong to me, its pure burning troth?
A single undying rose,
Only twice immortal as me.
Would be all I need,
To feel loved for eternity.
About this poem
A man becomes infatuated with the feeling of being loved rather then falling for the actual woman he pursues. Blind to this, she ventures to describe the slight bitter hint of sadness mixed in her experience of falling for him. A poem by myself I hope you'll enjoy.
