A Journey of life
L D Bossons 1946 (Pontefract)
A JOURNEY OF LIFE
Often have I thought and wondered, of what the cost,
That at its beginning, from whence I did start, I was totally lost,
Of the journey, the road, the path to which I took,
Learning without knowing, with each stage I did construct.
There was pitfalls and concerns as I traveled I did find,
And as I did proceed, it was though’ as if I was blind.
That those expectation from childhood to an adult, was now mine to amount,
A life’s progress of my own stock, to which I did account.
I followed like those before me trying to achieve,
I was building as I went along, each day growing with faith and believe,
And as I trod on that road, from babe to youth I found,
Developing a character, though not understanding where I was bound.
I was on that destination, of which some would call, (the highway of life),
That were more than seemed to be, which caused me, well more than just strife
As I was traveling along, I encountered and met with hurtful situations,
,I found the pain and suffering, I believed, that had caused all my indignation's.
That would send me spiralling down into a deep sense of worry and unease,
I was pensive in my out would nature, lacking feelings for want to please,
And with it the lacked and confidence to express my views.
So the then position that I had created, meant I would always lose.
I had failed to comprehend a situation, that maybe there was hope,
And yet it seemed the character I had developed, would save me from such reproach,
To help me in this circumstance, that had seemed beyond repair.
It would bring me to salvation, from all the gloom and desolate despair,
So now at my door, became feelings that in time brought me satisfaction.
My being brought me to a deep understanding, of this timely transformation,
Giving me pleasure, to the awkward situation I found nestling within my soul.
Which took me to place on high, where now I could aim for that winning goal.
For within my very nature, there was control, strength with power in mind,
That I could survive, for along with my new found courage, spirit, and pride,
And as I toiled and laboured, I eventually did succeeded, and I did find.
I showed my emotions without fear all laid bare, for there was now naught to hide.
