Potter Parable
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Arise and go to the potter,
Letting him to hear the Word;
Say to his son and daughter,
Of the things that have occurred.
So I went down to his house,
He was working at his wheel;
I preached to him and his spouse,
On getting spiritual zeal.
The vessel he was making,
Of clay spoiled by his hands;
He reworked by reshaping,
In the way the Lord commands.
Look O house of Israel,
I have no skill what he did;
He has the technique and skill,
Because my mind will forbid.
I shall speak of this nation,
I will pluck up and break down;
For a different fashion,
Wearing a different crown.
I speak to turn from evil,
Relent from a disaster;
As I avoid the devil,
Darkness will be his master.
I shall speak to the nation,
That I will build and plant it;
Make us a new creation,
Calling the Holy Spirit.
If with evil in His sight,
Not listening to His Word;
God will relent to ignite,
His wrath that Satan has slurred.
