remain
I know I’m supposed to let go of you
but I don’t want to know what life is like when we are finally through
I’m scared to accept you’ll no longer need me
that I won’t be your future anymore and only a memory
you’re slipping through my fingers
but the ghost of you still lingers
you say it’s for the best, we tried our hardest and it’s time to give our story a rest
I’m not sure who to turn to now with all this panic and stress
if I had appreciated you more
could what we had before, feel more like love and less than war?
if I had figured out earlier,
that you’re the one
would you have been something I’m worthy of?
I should have known loving you was the greatest thing to happen to me
I don’t know what I’m supposed to do now without you
who am I, if not yours?
