Night
They say the nights' of fear and fright
But I know better than to trust the light
I walk the creaky winding stairs
Always with a moment spare
For tonight two moons rest in the sky
And underneath them I will lie
The house is silent save for breaths
And I celebrate my worries' death
My head that pounds with primal drum
Is now reduced to silent hum
My darling moon so high above
You will always be my love
About this poem
About the late nights I experience. A quiet household and a dark sky is enough to make me forget my troubles. The dark isn't scary, it's peaceful. Also, my neighbor's window is circular and sometimes they're still awake when I come upstairs, so it appears to me that there are two moons in the sky when I reach the landing to look out the window as always.
