Why Poetry

Marley Coleman 1805 (Antarctica)

When I'll need it I'll never know
why are we learning about tempo and flow?
You know what it's like to waste your day?
To do nothing important for hours on end
and have no time to see your friends?
Then you will truly appreciate free time
instead we sit here using rhyme
Rhyme is as useless as a crayon coloured white
or a torch shining bright in a room full of light
I badly wish I were home
so I could explore and roam
interests that I actually like
such as writing drawing and riding my bike
