THE KEPT TRUTH

Sumaiya Fathima 2001 (Banglore)

Whispers of words, the laughs hide to be unheard.
The noises stop after a range. It looks like the truths aren’t real.
We hide under layers. What’s right? Nothing’s clear.
The faces hidden beneath makeup which store stories that are broken.
Layers of unsettling truth, shame, sadness and guilt. The layer of harm of not achieving things.
The scar’s, the cries, the help to find the truth of life.
It’s there, and it’s hidden. It’s clear and faded.
The time passes with tales on hold waiting for someone to speak for the lones.
We hide under the mask of someone we see every day, but we have never met them before.
It’s all the voices and the Whisper’s, its screams of all the silence which is kept stored.
