Neurodivergence
There once was a world,
Where everything was reversed.
April came before March,
And December came first.
Water runs upstream,
And balloons float upside down,
Streets fill the sky,
And clouds blanket the ground.
Blue is for hot,
And red is for cold,
Silver and Bronze
Are worth much more than Gold.
The rainbow starts at purple,
And ends at red,
Civilians sleep on the floor,
And work from their beds.
Authority goes to employees,
And bosses are the chumps,
Poor people go to high-end stores,
And the rich go to dumps.
Pencils blend together better
Than markers and paint too,
Sadness is a melancholic yellow,
And happiness is and overwhelming blue.
Clean laundry goes in baskets,
And dirty laundry goes in drawers,
Feet walk on the ceilings,
And lights hang from the floors.
Orange and black for Christmas,
Red and green for Halloween,
Sweets are considered normal,
And produce is considered a treat.
White is for the dark,
And black is for the light,
To be too snug is to be loose,
And to be too baggy is to be tight.
In a world where arbitrary rules don't exist,
And to live is to die,
Welcome to the misunderstood Wonderland
Of a neurodivergent mind.
