Reminders
Cold sheets
Your side is empty.
My sleep-dead arm falls
Where you used to lay.
The contours of your hips
Remain in the bedsprings.
Your scent lingers on the pillow,
The echo of your breathing
Returns to me,
Lost in darkness.
Endless night,
Filled with the ghosts of our love-making
Mocks me.
This loneliness is maddening.
