In the Beginning
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
God created the heavens and the earth.
God cut down the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was lay waste; an undistinguishable ruin,
And death and destruction covered the surface of the deep,
And the Spirit of God was hovering over this cesspool.
The problem isn’t grammar; it’s your spiritual condition,
The Holy Spirit fires if you give him ammunition.
And God said: “Let there be light,” and there was light.
The Father was introducing his Son Jesus.
And who is good but God alone?
We know this is true because:
God saw that the light was good.
And God separated Jesus from the death and destruction.
God called the light “day” and the darkness he called “night.”
And there was evening and there was morning—the first day.
Where is your heart and your mind when you read these things?
There was evening and there was morning the first three days;
But there was no sunrise or sunset.
Is Genesis chapter one, six literal days or six thousand one hundred and thirty years (the history of sinful man) or both?
