JoyousForgiveness
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless whose trespass is forgiven,
Whose transgression is covered;
Because the Lord up in Heaven,
As it is promised in His Word.
The Lord counts no iniquity,
In whose spirit has no deceit;
Humbled with no audacity,
That would cause them to lie or cheat.
Silence made my bones to decay,
Waxed old through to groan all day long;
God’s hand on me all night and day,
My strength had weakened for my wrong.
I dried up from the summer heat,
I declared and confessed my sin;
His forgiveness then was complete,
When His Spirit had cleansed within.
I confess my sin to the Lord,
Who forgave my iniquity;
To be aligned in one accord,
Improve spiritual dignity.
Let all godly ones offer prayer,
As soon as you have found the time;
The rush of great waters to share,
Will be washing away the crime.
For the Lord is my hiding place,
Preserving me from the trouble;
And shedding His mercy and grace,
Deliverance from the rubble.
