A Childs Innocence
To my dear friends and family, hear my pea,
In the depths of despair, i seek to be free.
My addiction's shadow has caused you great pain.
I'm sorry for the hurt, the tears, and the strain.
Like a tempest, heroin swept me away,
Leaving wreckage and sorrow in its cruel sway.
Each shattered promise, each trust
I betrayed,
Weights heavy on my soul, in darkness it has strayed.
To see your love tarnished by my desperate need,
is a wound that festers, a cruel, bitter seed.
In moments of clarity, I long to break free,
To mend what's been broken, to be who you see in me.
Yet words feel so feeble, a hollow refrain,
Against the havoc inflicted by my relentless bone.
Still, I vow to fight, to grasp hope's slender thread,
To reclaim my spirit, to make amends instead.
Know that your love is an anchor, unwavering and true,
In this turbulent sea, it's my guiding rescue.
I yearn to heal the wounds to earn back your trust,
To rise from this abyss, leave this in the dust.
Once a prisoner of soothing bliss, now
shackled by remorse,
In depths of addiction's grasp, I
lost my guiding force.
Each hit a whisper, each high a lie,
masking all I'd lost,
Leaving me with scars inside,
a heavy, painful cost.
All the faces of those I've hurt, the
trust I left to fray,
The promises I couldn't keep, as I
let my loved ones slip away.
Now echoes of my broken past,
reverberate within,
A symphony of sorrow and pain, a
melody of sin.
Yet in the midst of this despair, a
flicker starts to glow,
A yearning for a brighter path, a
chance to end myself destruction.
For in the depths of darkness of night,
a glimmer pierce through,
A hope for healing, a chance for change,
a life that can be renewed.
So here I stand, with trembling heart,
to face what I've become.
To shed the weight of shame and regret,
and seek the rising sun.
Though scars may linger, and
battles rage, I'll
strive to find my way,
To write a new and hopeful verse,
beyond the shadow of yesterday.
With hope as my compass, and love as my guide,
I'll strive to make amends, to stand by your standby
your side.
