A Broken Down Mystic
(An Comanach)
Imbibing brandy and Irish stout
In a pub near Derry’s Walls.
With a grey flecked beard
Coupling a tweed cap
Above a wrinkled brow.
At times receptive to dialogue
And others of silent presence.
A source of thought and experience
Striving to be free in metre and rhyme.
A somewhat solitary and mystical being
Apparently from The Leap of The Dog
In the nearby valley of The Roe.
