April
Bubble-trapped honey sunshine
made freckles bloom like flower-bombs
bursting o'er pale skin that
exposed a face long hidden
from behind thick cotton.
Clear winds whispered again
and gave the monarch butterfly
wings; as april laid so carefully
in the blossom trees that swayed
against periwinkle skies.
