Blacksheep (2017)
2-0-1-7; new bread, same leaven
Tryin’ to find another way to backdoor into heaven
Take another tragedy and try to make it pleasant
I try to watch the news but what they’re sayin’ is irrelevant
Elephant in the room got us all confused
It’s a three ring circus - are we stuck inside the zoo?
One minute, you’re Cecil, the next you’re Harambe
Either way it goes, you’re guaranteed to have a bad day
They kill us in our homes or hunt us down like it’s safari time
Giving it my all but all it’s getting me is borderline
Runnin’ for this paper but it feels more like a march of dimes
School ain’t really helpin’ - either get it or you gettin’ time
Get in line; 5 to 10 or 15 to life
Only God can save us now ‘cause we were born with three strikes
Ripe for the taking; grapes of wrath ain’t sipped slowly
Ignore the implications, watch the repercussions flow deep
“Get a little dough, get a little shine…”
Better get a grip and a peace of mind
Gotta get away from the trap and the lies
Better find what the world left behind
A better way of livin’ now for me and my kin folks
Excuse my country grammar but I know which way the wind goes
Anywhere it pleases like a breeze in the summertime
When it's hot as hell, but it hits you in the nick of time
So Imma rhyme wherever the beat takes me
Say what’s on my mind; I really don’t care if you think i’m crazy
I’m not spittin’ so the world can know who I am
Anything you need to know, just find it on my Instagram
I am what I am - just being what god made me
Dark cafe complexion intellectual that slays beats
Mary had a little lamb; His fleece was white as snow
And everywhere he leads, I’m surely good to go
Call me blacksheep ‘cause I shadow the Almighty
Unashamed, unafraid...stand firm and tread - nike
