My oldest daughter
Billie Jo you were my first born
As if you didn't know
Though you've given me some tough times
My love for you still grows.
You were such a pretty child
With your hair so gold and shiny
Maybe things would've been different
If I'd spanked your little heiny.
As I watched you grow up
Before my very eyes
We were not always lucky
To see things eye to eye.
I'm sure there were times
When I could have tried to understand
I wish we could've talked more
To get out lives under hand.
Although we do not always see things eye to eye
I want you to know I've loved you from the start
No matter how much time goes by
You will always be close to my heart.
Now you are a mother
And a young adult
I hope that you've grown wiser
As an end result.
I wish for you my daughter, on your 21st birthday
Peace, courage, wisdom and all of life's best
And that God will always keep you
Closest to His chest.
I will love you forever, Mom
