2020/10/02 ~ Crucified Man
Cheyenne Seaman 2003 (Philadelphia)
Once upon a time, somebody asked me,
“What are you running from in life?”
I told them, “Oh, it’s nothing,
Nothing but hatred and strife.”
They told me all of my problems
Could be solved in this little black Book.
I didn’t believe what I was hearing,
But I gave in and took a look.
I felt a stirring in my heart
And that’s when I knew
The Devil may try to tear me apart
But there’s something new for me and you.
There’s something in them stories of nail-pierced hands
When you’re sinking in the sand.
There’s hope in the stories of the Crucified Man.
Take it from me, I’ve sunk away from those peaceful shores.
When you’re lost and sinking out at sea
He’ll be offering a nail-pierced hand.
Maybe then you’ll finally see the beauty
Of the Crucified Man.
Sometimes it takes a miracle
For someone to know
There’s always someone watching out for them,
That they’re never truly alone.
