Love in a Word
David Cronk 1977
Love is perhaps man's most difficult emotion to determine and assess. It can be said that loves mystery is more complicated and bewildering than any of life's many unsolved riddles.
Loves existence and meaning differs from all who think they possess it, have discovered it, and have provided it to others. The only evidence of its existence is felt and not able to be explained through words. Those who believe they have felt it are likely biased and not educated enough in its complexity to truly state that love is exactly what they felt. Loves supposed grip manifests in ways outnumbering any and all emotions. Its apparent keepers present it in various ways that defy its defined meaning. Hatred, anger, rage, sadness, and disgust all vehicles utilized by its holder. Those receiving it provide no filter that can determine its genuineness. They yearn to experience the presence of its preconceived meaning, believing it will fill voids, provide them joy, while solidifying its presenters commitment to them.
Love is easily masked, not being known its present or casually being overlooked. Its components can be utilized to manipulate when it actually doesn't exist in the moment. Its powers exceed that of all of the universes most mighty elements, while it is weak enough to immediately disappear with little or no effort. There is no word or feeling that has so often provided a catalyst for war, creativity, death and life, as love has. Love may in fact simply be a word, supported by a myth, not available for anyone who wishes to bask in its supposed glory.
