Overwhelming Evidence
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
I don't want to be thought,
Discriminating or prejudice against anyone.
Believing to say they are brilliant.
And this is accepted and followed,
By convinced and loyal supporters.
Without it to question,
Actions done to reveal the opposite.
Provided by overwhelming evidence.
Proof and facts showing that.
I don't want thought,
The one to call them all fools.
When I am not in a position,
To pass that kind of judgement.
Or assume myself to be,
An outside observer to view...
What could be going on inside the minds,
Of those I have yet met to meet.
Before jumping to conclusions.
When I have done some stupid things.
With a defending my beliefs to be flawless.
That is why these days I am not quick to say,
Or call anyone an idiot or a fool.
Knowing myself to have done,
Some foolish stupid stuff.
I could not explain yet did anyway.
To still make the same mistakes to believe,
Opinions made heard to hear from others...
Are their opinions and not mine,
To listen or pay attention to criticism.
If I thought any of it,
Came out of the mouth of a moron.
And these days I realize,
Morons are homemade to stay away...
From them all.
I have learn to keep my distance to witness,
If anyone decides living a life...
Being a fool, idiot or moron.
Has for them to be a purpose and reason.
And not my business to think,
I am qualified to pass judgement on anyone.
I was often told as a child,
Stupid stuff I chose to do.
Has its own consequences to pay.
And today as an aging to grow older adult,
God knows I can not afford...
Ignoring to look before I leap,
Into an empty swimming pool.
